If the map has markers, click them for extra information. You can also double-click anywhere on the map to get driving directions to that point. Note:Trail routes shown are approximate! If you have a GPS trace of this trail, leave a comment below with your email address (which will not be published), and I'll contact you. Thanks!
Elevation profile of route: feet above sea level vs. distance traveled (approximate). Green marker on map above shows which end is designated as start of route.

I received a message from http://mickelsontrailadventures.com/ – they have shuttles and information for this trail.

Wife Becky and I rode this one today, 9/13/10 from Dumont back down to Deadwood. Super nice ride for a beginner rail trailer! (her) First 1.5 miles are slightly uphill for 1.5 miles, then it is nearly all downhill for the next 17 into Deadwood. Saw lots of riders on hybrid bikes with 1.5 inch or about 35mm tires on the trail what were not having any problems with trail surface. There are two cab companies that serve Deadwood that provide a ride back up to Dumont or Rochford to retrieve your car for under $30.00. If you get back to SD, is a bike ride not to be missed.
Happy Trails

Tuesday, 9/14, we paralled the GSM Trail from the Crazy Horse Memorial pretty much all the way back up to Deadwood on Black Hills National Forest back roads. From what we saw, the ride from Dumont to North Deadwood was one of the best parts. The elevation change shown on this page isn’t nearly so sever when stretched out over the 109 mile ride. The keyboard on this notebook computer isn’t the best, so please forgive a few edit hacks. Link to the offical trail map http://gfp.sd.gov/state-parks/directory/mickelson-trail/map.aspx
Happy trails.
