The quality of trail is perfect for a hybrid as it has yet to be paved. The gravel is fine and compact most of the trail but does have some places where it is loose and thick. The trail web site (see link above) says "The ELST will be upgraded in phases to become a fully paved facility with soft-surface shoulders." I ran from the Redmond trail ahead about 8 miles and back. Nice views of the Lake and the lake-front properties. I only saw one porta potty about a mile from the Redmond trail head and no water.
